Dr S N SEN is p. esently Professor and Head, Department of History, Calcutta University. He obtained his D.PhiI and D.Litt. degrees from Calcutta University. He started his career as a Research Fellow from Calcutta University and later he joined Vidyasagar College, Calcutta and become Head of the Department in the same college. Dr Sen has also served as a senior Reader at the University of North Bengal. He is author of Anglo-Maratha Relations during the Administration of Warren Hastings, and Anglo-Maratha Relations. His two other works History of Modern India and Europe and the World published by Wiley
