About the Author

Asma Jahangir, former chairperson of the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, is a reputed lawyer who has devoted her energies to the cause of women, children, minorities and bonded labourers in Pakistan. She has been a Vice Chairperson of Defence for Children International, based in Geneva, and remains on its board. She is also a Director of the Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development in Montreal. She is a visiting fellow of the Human Rights Program at the Harvard Law School. MARK DOUCET is a Canadian lawyer who has worked with AGHS Legal Aid Cell in Pakistan. He has done extensive research on juvenile delinquency in developing countries.
