About the Author

Nadeem Farooq Paracha is a well-known Pakistani author, social commenter and columnist. He has authored seven best-selling books on the social, political and cultural histories of Pakistan. This is his eighth book. Paracha is also a widely-read columnist for Pakistan’s leading English language daily, Dawn. In 2018, he was accepted as a Research Scholar by the International Forum for Democratic Studies in Washington DC. He also heads the Ideas Department at Adcom Leo Burnett. His books include: End of the Past (2016); The Pakistan Anti-Hero (2017); Points of Entry (2018); Muslim Modernism (2019); Soul Rivals (2020); The Reluctant Republic (2021); and For Faith, State and the Soul (2022).
