About the Author
Stuart Cary Welch, who conceived and organised the exhibition and is the author of the catalogue, is Special Consultant in Charge, Department of Islamic Art, at the Metropolitan Museum and Curator of Islamic and Later Indian Art at the Fogg Art Museum, Harvard University. His previous books include The Art of Mughal India; Gods, Thrones, and Peacocks (with Milo Cleveland Beach); A King’s Book of Kings; A Flower from Every Meadow; Imperial Mughal Painting; Room for Wonder: Arts of the Islamic Book (with Anthony Welch); and Anvari’s Divan (with Annemarie Schimmel)
