About the Author

Dr. Himayatullah Yaqubi belongs to village Yaqubi, District Swabi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. He has a Masters degree in History from the Department of History, University of Peshawar (2000). This was followed by earning his MPhil (2005) and PhD (2015) degrees from the Department of History Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU), Islamabad, Pakistan. He has been a Research Fellow at National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research (NIHCR), QAU, from 2006 to 2017. Presently, he is Assistant Professor at the Department of History, Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad. He has also authored a book titled Mughal-Afghan Relations in South Asia: History and Developments (2015). His research articles on Pakistan's Freedom Movement, Left politics, sufism, history and culture of Pakhtuns have been published in leading national and international academic journals. He has presented numerous papers and organized a number of international conferences. He is also a columnist in the daily The News International. Besides, he is a life member of the Pakistan Historical Society, Karachi and Pukhto Adabi Board Peshawar.
