About the Author

Prof. Dr. Umbreen Javaid, is Chairperson Department of Political Science and Director, Centre for South Asian Studies, University of the Punjab, Quaid-e-Azam Campus, Lahore-Pakistan. She did her M,Sc. in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad. For one year she studied various graduate courses at Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, USA. She received her doctorate from Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad, where she has been teaching as well. At present she is teaching Masters, M. Phil and Ph. D Students in the Department of Political Science and Centre for South Asian Studies, University of the Punjab, Lahore. She has authored numerous research articles in reputed national and international journals.
