About the Author

NOAM CHOMSKY is a world renowned political activist, writer, and professor of linguistics at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he has taught since 195. Chomsky has written and lectured widely on linguistics, philosophy, and politics. Among his recent works arm Powers and Prospects, World Orders, Old and Mew; Deterring Democracy, Manufacturing Consent (with E S Herman); and Year 501: The Conquest Continues. Chomsky's efforts for greater democracy are celebrated by peace and social justice movements worldwide. ROBERT W. MCCHESNEY is Associate Professor of Communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is the author of several books, including Corporate Media and the Threat to Democracy (Se Stories, 1991) and the forthcoming Rich Media. Poor Democracy.
