About the Author

English short-story writer, novelist, poet, essayist, and critic, David Herbert Lawrence (1885-1930) was a controversial figure from the beginning to the end of his career. His works are notable for their passionate intensity and for a sensuality that centres on, but is not limited to, the erotic. Although his literary career spanned only two decades, the body of work is considerable including novels like Sons and Lovers, Women in Love, Lady Chatterley’s Lover and some of the best short stories in the genre.
