About the Author

Dr. Munawar S. Mirza, Professor Emeritus at the University of the Punjab and a Distinguished National Professor of HEC, is an eminent educationist with a lifetime of experience in teaching, research, administration and leadership at various universities and professional organisations. She has served in academic leadership positions as Chairperson, Director, Dean, Advisor, Pro-Vice Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor. She is the founding Chairperson of the National Accreditation Council for Teacher Education and of the Departments of Gender Studies, Research and Assessment, and ELTL at the University of the Punjab. She is a UNESCO Comenius Laureate, recipient of a D.Litt. (Hon.) from the University of Glasgow, the Presidential Award Izaz-e-Fazeelat and the Fatima Jinnah Medal. She represents Asia-Pacific on the ILO-UNESCO Committee on the Status of Teachers.
