About the Author

Gulzar Ali holds Master’s and M.Phil degrees in History from the University of Peshawar, where his postgraduate research focused on the Mujahidin Movement in South Asia during the 20th century. He has completed his Ph.D. at the Institute of Middle Eastern Studies and World History, Northwest University, Xi’an, China. His doctoral dissertation, titled Islamic Reformation and Religious Fanaticism: A Case Study of Isha'at Tawheed wa Sunnah, explores a religious movement rooted in Pukhtunkhwa. Alongside his academic work, Gulzar has over a decade of professional experience with various national and international NGOs across Pakistan. His work has spanned diverse sectors including education, health, advocacy, gender, livelihoods, and project management. He brings to his research a strong foundation in technical writing and presentations, and remains committed to continuous professional development. His ongoing research focuses on the history of the Pak-Afghan borderland.
