Description
When Earnshaw adopted the dark-skinned foundling Heathcliff, he could have scuttled past him in the street if he had even the dimmest vision of the darkness inside him. Anyhow, he was saved by luck to see its outpour. His children were not so fortunate though. They had to suffer-beyond measure. Wuthering Heights is an intense, often demonic, love-hate story which mercilessly shows the daily making and unmaking of our psyche, its long term impact on our ultimate constitution and its continuing legacy. It has been one of the most popular reads since its first publication in 1847.
