Description

About the Author
Henry Field (1902-1986) was an American anthropologist.Field was born in Chicago. He was a relative of merchant Marshall Field and a nephew of Barbour Lathrop. Field grew up in England and was educated at Oxford (B.A., 1925; M.A., 1930; D.Sc., 1937). Field did field work in the Middle East and became an expert on Middle Eastern civilizations. He worked for the Field Museum in Chicago and participated in many research expeditions. He taught at the University of Miami. In retirement, Field lived in Miami.
